Podcast with Victoria O’Brien, Owner & Designer for Draft Paper Co.

“Greeting cards for the rest of us!” ~Victoria O’Brien

Today’s guest really will inspire you!

During our conversation Victoria goes on to describe the naming of her company and reflects on how each one of us are also in a particular stage of life… in a draft stage. I was so moved with her analogy as it resonated with me so deeply. She goes on to explain that her company, just like her life is in Draft, and certainly not the final version.

Today’s guest is an incredible graphic designer and even offers custom designed wedding logo’s. It doesn’t stop there though, listen to here more!

Some of you listening today may remember my premiere podcast guest, Mr. Tim Travis, owner of Goldner Walsh Garden and Home. Well as I mentioned in one of my podcasts from last month, Tim hosted a lovely artists market last December in one of his event greenhouses. To say the least it was delightful… but when you mix food with shopping, what more can a gal ask for!

The market showcased several local artisans selling their wares, along with some yummy foodies! To say the least… I was in a bit of heaven on earth. My favorite things all in one stop!

I of course was hoping to meet some cool people to be guests on upcoming podcast episodes, and I was not disappointed. I met this super energetic gal with crazy cool art ranging from notepads, greeting cards, pens, and original art.

And that is where I met today’s guest, please let me introduce  Victoria O’Brien, Owner & Designer of Draft Paper Co.

Podcast with Ayesha Maxwell, Manager of Entrepreneurship Program at ACCESS

“To empower communities to improve their health and their economic, social and cultural well-being.” ~ACCESS

Join me today as I chat it up with Ayesha Maxwell, Manager of the Entrepreneurship Program at ACCESS Dearborn.

I met this amazing lady back in the fall  of 2022 after attending a conference focusing on female entrepreneurship. I had received an email invite to an upcoming conference taking place in Dearborn MI hosted by a local organization, ACCESS. I had worked with this agency during my time in Dearborn with both the DDA & Chamber of Commerce, so I was really excited to attend! As I read the details & description, to say the least I got even more interested!

The conference was geared towards female entrepreneurs, which is right up my alley, so I registered right away… and I am so happy I did! The conference, cleverly titled LeadHER-ship was intentionally designed to host a smaller group in order to have a more intimate feel and allow the attendees to chat and get to know one another.

ACCESS (Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services) has been serving the community for 50 years. Founded by a group of dedicated volunteers in 1971 out of a storefront in Dearborn’s impoverished south end, ACCESS was created to assist the Arab immigrant population adapt to life in the United States.

Today, ACCESS is the most comprehensive Arab American community nonprofit in the United States. With 10 locations and more than 120 programs serving metro Detroit, ACCESS offers a wide range of social, economic, health and educational services to a diverse population.

Ayesha shares today the programs available to all entrepreneurs, not just Arab Americans in Southeast Michigan along with resources for other areas.

Podcast with Lincoln Stone Paper, Tamara Lincoln Founder & CEO

Let’s talk about the earth & saving the trees!

Join me today as I chat it up with Tamara Lincoln, Founder & CEO of Lincoln Stone Paper Company! Learn how she uses & developed a sustainable way to manufacture paper without tree pulp! Lincoln Stone Paper notebooks are waterproof, water-free, and tree-free!

Tamara shares her touching story of how & why she started her publishing company!
Her story will possibly move you, a curious entrepreneur to take that leap of faith into starting your own business. Her testimony will stimulate you to take that leap of faith.

Tamara Lincoln is a Christian, wife, mother, and community servant raised in Detroit and Highland Park, Michigan. She developed her line of notebooks to help others take the stresses of life and help encourage them to jot them down without the worry of them being destroyed or ruined by unfortunate situations including both our kids & possible spills.

She uses her notebooks to write and draw in order to help cope with life’s situation as they present themselves. After awhile she noticed her notebooks would deteriorate fast, and it became costly and a hassle. She wanted a notebook that would be durable and efficient. .. and that is how she created her stone paper notebooks.

Lincoln Stone Paper’s vision is to create change in the pulp paper industry, raise the bar in the industry, and make a difference in our community. We dream to become the leading stationary supplier across many and previously unsought markets across the world.

Lincoln Stone Paper’s mission is to create change in the pulp paper industry and to save the trees with one stone at a time and improve sustainability by leaving a greener print on our planet.
